Finance Forum, the brain child of Prof. Anil Gor and
guided by Prof. V.S. Date, is well supported by our Director, Prof. P.L. Arya. It
is one of the most vibrant forums at NLDIMSR and acts as a catalyst which keeps
alive the euphoria of Finance going around the Institute. It holds various
seminars by inviting successful personalities from the Corporate World. Under
this Forum, the students get a chance to practically test their finance
quotient by participating in events like Portfolio Management, analyzing and
presenting Balance Sheets to CFOs, Budget Analysis, ET Quiz and many more. The forum also hosts Arthmanthan – an
intra-collegiate event and Mulyankan – a National Level B-School Paper
Presentation Competition and Seminar.
This is the 12th year that NLDIMSR’s
Finance Forum is hosting “Mulyankan”, a pan-India competition wherein every
year, the theme is selected on the backdrop of contemporary economic situation and
entries are invited from top notch colleges across the country. The recent past
witnessed the fall of major banks internationally whereas due to a strong
banking backbone, Indian banks had a very little impact. The post-recession period
saw a few M&A and with this idea, this year’s theme for Mulyankan is

Future – The M&A way
Based on the theme, the topic for paper presentation competition
has been kept as “Consolidation in Indian Banking Industry – The M&A way”,
which would be held on October 8, 2010 and the topic for seminar is “Future of
Indian Banking Industry”, which would be held on October 9, 2010. The seminar
would be delivered by the honchos of Corporate World which will give the
students, an opportunity to know the expected scenario of Indian Banking from
the who’s who of Banking Industry itself.
